Max Beesley is an acclaimed English actor, musician and composer, trained at Chetham’s School of Music and the Guildhall School of Music & Drama.

He has starred in major television and film productions including Bodies, Mad Dogs, Suits, Homeland, The Outsider, Hijack, and The Gentlemen.

Alongside his acting career, Max is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist who has toured and recorded with artists such as Robbie Williams, Jamiroquai and George Benson, and has released his own solo albums.

A rare all-round talent, Max seamlessly bridges the worlds of screen and stage with exceptional musicianship and presence.

Our Story

Max Beesley has been more than a friend of our company — he shared a genuine bond with my father, Colin Leverett, built on mutual respect, music, and a shared pursuit of excellence.

Their relationship went far beyond piano technician and artist; it was a true friendship. My father deeply admired Max’s extraordinary musicianship and work ethic, and Max valued my father’s uncompromising standards and lifetime dedication to the craft. That connection — rooted in trust, loyalty and a love of music — remains an important part of our story today.

I first connected with Max via social media, having seen him perform on a piano that I knew could be elevated to a far higher tonal standard. Confident that we could create an instrument worthy of his musicianship, I reached out.

What began as a conversation about tone and performance quickly developed into a genuine friendship — and ultimately led to Max choosing to purchase a Steinway Model B. He knew exactly what he wanted: a soundboard crafted from slow-grown Sitka spruce for depth and projection, and a new Kluge keyboard to ensure absolute precision and control.

Together, we created an instrument that truly reflects his artistry, power and musical integrity.

Max's 1925 Steinway & Sons Model B

We carried out a full and comprehensive rebuild of this Steinway Model B, restoring the instrument to the highest technical and aesthetic standards.

The piano was refinished in an classic high gloss black case, complementing the complete internal restoration. The work included the installation of a new soundboard and tuning plank, a fully re-gilded frame, new strings and dampers, a new damper action, a brand-new Kluge keyboard, new Steinway action and hammers.

The result is an instrument of exceptional tonal depth, stability, and performance — effectively reborn while preserving the timeless character of the Steinway Model B.
