Our Story

I first met Fraser in 2020, when we were invited to his studio to assess a cherished family heirloom — a Steinberg baby grand. The instrument was subsequently fully rebuilt by us and restored to its finest potential. However, I always felt that one day Fraser would be ready for an instrument that truly matched both his artistry and the calibre of his studio.

Two years later, that moment arrived.

Together, we agreed that a magnificent rosewood Steinway Model B would provide the perfect balance of aesthetic presence and world-class performance. The piano now sits proudly within the studio — a statement of both style and musical authority.

From that point, our professional relationship naturally evolved into a valued friendship, and a new brand ambassador partnership was formed — built on shared standards, mutual respect, and a commitment to excellence.

Steinberg Baby Grand

1901 Steinway Rosewood Model B

We carried out a full and comprehensive rebuild of this Steinway Model B, restoring the instrument to the highest technical and aesthetic standards.

The piano was refinished in an elegant satin rosewood case, complementing the complete internal restoration. The work included the installation of a new soundboard and tuning plank, a fully re-gilded frame, new strings and dampers, a new damper action, a brand-new Kluge keyboard, a fully rebuilt action, and the fitting of premium Abel Natural felt hammers.

The result is an instrument of exceptional tonal depth, stability, and performance — effectively reborn while preserving the timeless character of the Steinway Model B.

We undertook a comprehensive internal rebuild of this Steinberg piano, retaining the original casework at Fraser’s request. He was particularly drawn to its natural, time-worn patina, which perfectly complements the aesthetic of his barn conversion studio.

The restoration included the installation of a new soundboard and tuning plank, a fully re-gilded frame, new strings and dampers, complete keyboard restoration, new action components throughout, and the fitting of premium Abel Natural felt hammers.

The result is an instrument that preserves its authentic visual character while delivering the performance, stability and tonal depth of a fully rebuilt piano.
